The 2012 Charter Public Schools ballot initiative (I-1240) is currently ahead 51.2% to 48.8%, with about half the votes counted.
The rest of the votes will be counted over the next two weeks as the ballots mailed yesterday and today are eventually delivered, processed and counted.

Other than the fact that I-1240 is ahead, the good news is that I-1240 is winning many more counties than I-729 did in 2000 when that charter school ballot initiative ultimately lost 51.5% to 48.5%. In 2000, I-729 only won 5 counties: Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, Island and Jefferson.
